Otolaryngology (ENT)
Otolaryngology is a medical field that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the ears, nose, throat and certain structures of the head and neck. An otolaryngologist provides assessment and management of conditions such as sinus problems, tonsillitis, ear infections, hearing loss, dizziness, hoarseness, vocal cord abnormalities, swallowing difficulties and certain cancers of the head and neck. Otolaryngology also includes facial plastic and reconstructive surgery to correct deformities caused during birth or from trauma. An otolaryngologist is commonly called an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) physician.
